Anquan Boldin Records 1,000th Career Reception
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin logged his 1,000th career reception in the first quarter of Sunday's Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported the news of Boldin's milestone, which came on a five-yard reception.
Boldin has endured turbulence at the quarterback position, but considering his advanced football age of 35, he has managed to produce at a respectable rate as the Niners' clear No. 1 receiver.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
NFL.com provided footage of Boldin's landmark grab:
ESPN Stats & Info indicated Boldin is only the 13th player in NFL history to reach 1,000 receptions—and he did so in the fifth-fewest games (185).
Boldin may well be in the midst of his last NFL season. As mightily as San Francisco has struggled, its ever-reliable veteran wideout has been a silver lining.
Despite the Niners' 2015 woes, Boldin has expressed a desire to return next year.
"I like it here," said Boldin, per 49ers.com's Taylor Price. "I like the people here. The organization has been great to me. I love my teammates. I enjoy them. And I have roots here, a lot of relationships that I’ve built in this community."
The three-time Pro Bowler is an unrestricted free agent and has shown signs he has enough in the tank for perhaps one more year. Playing with a superior QB is bound to be something Boldin covets should he choose to continue his career.
With such a prestigious achievement realized Sunday to go with an already magnificent resume, though, Boldin could well walk away from the game.
He helped the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl XLVII triumph and has to be considered among the best receivers of his time. The 1,000-reception mark is a testament to Boldin's longevity, consistency and greatness.
