David Villa Ranks Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez Trident at Barcelona
Former Barcelona hero David Villa has proclaimed the Blaugrana's MSN trinity of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar as the best combination in the team's history.
The former Spain international told Spanish website Astur Wagen (h/t Sport) the trio have set new standards at Camp Nou after Luis Enrique's installation as coach, sweeping to the treble in 2014-15:
"It's without doubt, the best trident in Barcelona history.
Without doubt, it's the best. I say it having been part of one of the best forward lines the club has had.
The numbers speak for them alone. You only have to analyse them, they are beasts, individually and as a unit.
When [Luis Enrique] arrived the team started in up and down fashion, critics coming from all angles, and they ended up champions of everything.

Villa left Barca to join Atletico Madrid in 2013, moving on to MLS side New York City FC a year later, and was commenting on the trio after his return to Spain on holiday.

Messi's 2014-15 campaign was exemplary, scoring 58 goals in all competitions, according to ESPN FC's Miguel Delaney, and leading Barcelona to their second treble in six seasons.
The Argentina ace has missed duty this term after suffering a knee injury, but Neymar and Suarez have continued to fire the club forward.
Another ex-Barca star has lauded the club's current protagonists as well. Brazilian kingpin Ronaldinho said Messi is the top player on the planet, per Marca.
"He is the best in the world," said the attacking icon, "and there's nothing more to be said."

Barcelona recently collected the Club World Cup after comprehensively beating South American giants River Plate, prevailing 3-0 as Suarez netted twice in the final hosted in Japan.
The match unequivocally reaffirmed the team's status as the best club side in the world, and it positions them to repeat their success this season.
Barca lead La Liga as the Madrid clubs struggle to keep up with the Catalans' pace, and if they can now keep Messi fit until the summer, their succession to yet another title success looks guaranteed.
The MSN trinity might not only be the best in Barca's history, but it could become the greatest combination in the history of the sport, as the three world-class attackers terrorise defences at home and abroad for the foreseeable future.
