Njie Out Until March

Wednesday, Dec. 23

According to ITV, the Cameroonian suffered the injury in Spurs' Europa League clash with Monaco on Dec. 10 and has since had surgery on his knee.

Per the report, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino said: "I don't know but we will expect maybe two months or two and a half. You never know because every day it's about how the knee responds but maybe two months or a little bit more."

Having also had hamstring problems following his arrival in the summer, Njie is yet to make a significant impact at White Hart Lane.

However, with the Christmas period fast approaching and the Europa League due to resume once again in February, his injury leaves Tottenham short in a busy and crucial time of the season.

Spurs have thus far coped well with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son as their only other forward options, but should one suffer an injury—the former in particular—they could really struggle.

With that being the case, expect Spurs to pursue reinforcements in January.
