Real Madrid Transfer News: Toni Kroos Boost, Kylian Mbappe Targeted, Top Rumours

Rory MarsdenDec 23, 2015

Toni Kroos reportedly "fully intends to stay" at Real Madrid despite recent rumours indicating he may be agitating for a move away from the Bernabeu.

Last week it was reported by Frederic Hermel on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito (h/t the Mirror's Ed Malyon) that Kroos had instructed his agent, Volker Struth, to find him a new club.

However, Pablo Polo of Spanish outlet Marca now reports that the German international "will not rock the boat" despite his role in the Real side having diminished slightly under manager Rafael Benitez.

To the surprise of many, including team-mate Isco, Benitez left Kroos, 25, on the bench for Real's recent defeat to Villarreal, per BreatheSport:

Per Malyon, it has not been the best of seasons for Kroos, and he was absent for Real's Christmas party last week.

However, he started in Madrid's 10-2 mauling of Rayo Vallecano at the weekend and things are seemingly looking up for Los Blancos, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:

Kroos is one of the most adept central midfielders in the world, able to operate effectively both in an attacking role and as a deep-lying playmaker.

The faintest whiff of any dissatisfaction from him at Madrid would see a number of Premier League clubs clamouring to sign him up, per Malyon.

But for now it seems he is satisfied with the Spanish giants and reports of his diminished role under Benitez have been slightly overblown.

Kroos has started 14 of 16 La Liga games this season and played in five of Real's six Champions League group clashes, per WhoScored.com.

He is unquestionably still a vital first-team player and remains contracted until 2020 at the Bernabeu, thus it is highly unlikely that Real could be persuaded to sell him on any time soon.

Along with Casemiro, Mateo Kovacic and Luka Modric, Kroos makes up one of the best central-midfield units in Europe, and they will all be vital as Real look to win La Liga and the Champions League in the second half of the season.

Elsewhere, Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Monaco's 17-year-old striker Kylian Mbappe, per Le Journal de Dimanche (via Marca).

The Frenchman recently made his first-team debut for the Ligue 1 club aged just 16, and he is likely to draw comparisons with Manchester United's Anthony Martial.

Real Madrid could reportedly be up against United, as well as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, in their bid to sign Mbappe.
