Real Madrid Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski Request Made by Carlo Ancelotti

Tom SunderlandDec 22, 2015

Carlo Ancelotti's future appointment as Bayern Munich manager looks likely to stop Real Madrid from pursuing the transfer of Robert Lewandowski in 2016.

According to Marco Ruiz of Spanish newspaper AS, Ancelotti stipulated as part of his contract that Lewandowski remain at the Allianz Arena following rumours of Real's interest in his signature. Ruiz wrote:

"

One of the conditions the Italian coach stipulated before committing to Bayern for the next three years was that the Bundesliga club would not sell the 27 year old striker.

Ancelotti is well aware that the Polish striker is high on a wish-list of the Madrid president and last month, the player’s agent Cezary Kucharski was spotted in the VIP section of the Bernabeu for Madrid’s game against Getafe.

It was announced on Sunday that Ancelotti will replace Pep Guardiola at the Bayern Munich helm at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, but the former appears to already be getting to work in the position.

Under usual circumstances, Real may retain hope of landing their man, but the situation is complicated since Lewandowski has no buyout clause, despite his agent's initial insistence upon one when moving to Bayern last year.

Ancelotti will end his one-year sabbatical to take over at Bayern Munich in June.

Ruiz claimed the Poland international's representatives attempted to insert a buyout clause in his deal after joining from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer, but Der FCB wouldn't allow it.

AS recently spoke to Lewandowski regarding a move to the Bernabeu in the future, to which he replied that "it's not an easy situation" while he remains committed to Bavarian bruisers Bayern: "Every year these kinds of rumours come around and I don't want to answer questions about them always. What's important to me is football. It's not an easy situation for me, so I prefer to say nothing."

Ruiz detailed Lewandowski's current annual salary as €10 million, but Real would allegedly be willing to offer the forward a €2 million increase in his wages.

Milanese journalist Tancredi Palmeri appeared under the impression Bayern's leading man is bound to leave the Allianz and leave Bayern with a potential quandary:

Ancelotti will not only be taking over one of the most talented squads in world football when he finally arrives at Bayern, but he'll also be inheriting one of the most gifted frontmen currently in the sport.

Real's pursuit of the striker will depend largely on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema and whether the "BBC" trio remains intact at the Bernabeu.

Ancelotti will look forward to leading the reigning Bundesliga champions, but Lewandowski has become a critical part of the team under Guardiola, a player for whom there is no equal replacement.

It's an intelligent move on Ancelotti's behalf to ensure that relationship remains, even when Guardiola moves on, and Los Blancos could be forced to look elsewhere for striking reinforcements as a result.
