Behind the one-two punch of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, the Oklahoma City Thunder (19-9) beat the Los Angeles Clippers (16-13), 100-99, on Monday at the Staples Center.
Westbrook had 33 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Durant went for 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. He hit the game-winning basket from 17 feet out with five seconds left. On the ensuing possession, he blocked a shot to seal the victory.
The Clippers were led by Chris Paul, who had 32 points and 10 assists. Blake Griffin and J.J. Redick each added 15 in the loss.
L.A. will get a shot at revenge when these two face off again on March 2.
