Can the Browns Overcome the Ravens to Keep Their Season Alive?

Nick SignorelliSep 23, 2009

Right now, the Cleveland Browns sit at 0-2, while the Baltimore Ravens lead the AFC North at 2-0.

Even though many people don't give the Browns much of a chance this weekend in Baltimore, if the Browns can find a way to win this game, they will only be one game back of the AFC North division leader.

The biggest struggle so far for the Browns has been the ability to move the ball. Prior to the beginning of the season, many people thought that the Browns would not be able to put any points on the board against the Ravens.

The Ravens defense is not what anyone thought they would be prior to the season starting. They have given up 662 yards (580 through the air), and are ranked 17th in the NFL in total defense.

In addition, they have allowed 50 points in their two games, including 24 to the lowly Kansas City Chiefs.

This could be the breakout game for quarterback Brady Quinn. The Ravens secondary is suspect, and with Rex Ryan now coaching in New York, this defense is not what they used to be.

The only question is, will Eric Mangini take the cuffs off of Brady Quinn, and let him be the quarterback that they drafted him to be?

If they do, the the Browns have a very realistic chance to overthrow the Ravens, and send the AFC North into an uproar.

Either the Steelers or Bengals will be 1-2 at the end of their game Sunday. If the Browns win, then there will be two teams at 2-1 and two teams at 1-2. Did anyone think there would be one game separating all of the AFC North teams three weeks into the season?

I know Browns fans should be thrilled by the possibility.
