Kelvin Taylor, Demarcus Robinson, Alex McCalister Declare for 2016 NFL Draft

Timothy RappDec 21, 2015

Florida defensive end Alex McCalister, running back Kelvin Taylor and wideout Demarcus Robinson are declaring for the 2016 NFL draft, according to Mark Long of the Associated Press.

"I really don't get it," Gators head coach Jim McElwain said of the departures, per Long.

Taylor, the son of former NFL running back Fred Taylor, led the Gators in rushing with 985 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Robinson caught 47 passes for 505 yards and two touchdowns.

McCalister posted solid numbers for the Gators this year despite missing three games due to a foot injury, finishing with 6.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. He was dismissed from the team for violating team rules over the weekend, however, per the Gainesville Sun (via Nick Bromberg of Yahoo Sports).

Junior cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III also revealed his intention to declare for the NFL draft after the SEC title game, which was hardly a surprise considering he's expected to be a first-round selection.

Taylor, McCalister and Robinson don't appear likely to be selected in the early rounds at the 2016 draft at this point in the process, however, making their respective decisions to go pro pretty big gambles for each player.
