Rowe Active vs. Redskins
Saturday, Dec. 26
Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reported Rowe was not among the Eagles' inactive players for Week 16 against the Washington Redskins.
Rowe's Return Helps Depth Issues in Secondary
While Rowe's injury was a concern on its own, James Palmer of NFL Network also noted that Byron Maxwell, who has since been ruled out of this week's contest, was undergoing shoulder X-rays when the team ruled Rowe out. That left Philadelphia without its top two cornerbacks against an offense that features quarterback Carson Palmer and talented wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd.
The Eagles had to rely on Jaylen Watkins, who is in his second season, and E.J. Biggers, who has some experience under his belt, appearing in 13 or more games every year since 2010.
Considering Philadelphia ranked a disappointing 24th in the league in pass defense coming into Week 15, the team needs Rowe healthy as it competes in the race for the NFC East title.
