Cam Newton, Ted Ginn Jr., Greg Olsen's Post-Week 15 Fantasy Advice

Danny WebsterDec 20, 2015

The Carolina Panthers almost blew a 28-point lead on Sunday.

That would've been a terrible first loss of the year.

Despite that scare, the Panthers moved to 14-0 thanks to a 38-35 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. And once again, it was the stars on offense who paved the way for Carolina to inch closer to NFL history.

Here are some things you need to know about the Panthers' offensive stars in their Week 15 win.

Cam Newton

Give this man the MVP now, forever and until the end of time.

It wasn't the quarterback's fault that the Panthers relinquished that 28-point lead. Cam Newton was the reason why the Panthers were up 35-7 in the first place.

He put together another MVP-like, Superman-esque performance in the first three quarters and on Carolina's final drive. He led the Panthers on an eight-play drive in the final 1:46 before Graham Gano's game-winning field goal as time expired.

Until Newton on Sunday, no quarterback in the Super Bowl era had ever run for 100 yards and thrown five touchdowns in the same game, per ESPN Stats & Info.

He's been the MVP all year long. The only advice you need is to play him in fantasy.

Ted Ginn Jr.

Drops aside, Ted Ginn Jr. has been a godsend for SuperCam the last three weeks.

Ginn hauled in two more touchdown receptions on Sunday, giving him his third straight multi-touchdown game and six total scores in those last three games.

It's also the third straight game Ginn has scored at least 20 points in ESPN fantasy leagues.

Many have picked on Ginn for his drops, most notably the couple he had against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13. But he's been a terrific fantasy player since that game, and Newton has relied on him more as the season draws to a close.

He's on a tear worthy of a WR1 spot, and as the Panthers try to go for 16-0, he should be getting more targets his way. Ginn is playing as well as any receiver in the NFL right now. Your best bet is to utilize him in your lineups the rest of the way because these won't be the last games Ginn has to make an impact.

Mr. Reliable had another solid game for the Panthers and continues to be one of the most consistent fantasy tight ends this season.

Olsen caught one of five Newton's touchdown passes and also hauled in a crucial 16-yard reception on the game's final drive to get Carolina closer to field-goal range.

The Pro Bowl tight end eclipsed double-digit fantasy points for the sixth time in the last 10 games on Sunday.

It's already been a career-best year for Olsen, who's set a new career high in yards, had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and caught his seventh touchdown of the year.

The down year for tight ends continues, but Olsen has been one of the best at his position for a long time. For as long as he stays healthy, he should be in your lineups.
