UC Irvine Wins Game Using Tallest Lineup in College Basketball History

Drew CorriganJun 4, 2018

That's a lot of height. Last night, UC Irvine trotted out the tallest starting lineup in college basketball history against D-III Chapman University.

The tallest lineup was spearheaded by 7'6" center Mamadou Ndiaye, who was also joined by 7'2" Ioannis Dimakopoulos in the frontcourt. The "shortest" player in the lineup was 6'8" Shawn Ray.

To compare, the tallest person in the starting lineup for Chapman stood at 6'8". Wow.

UC Irvine won the game 65-51, and its starters, to the surprise of no one, blocked 11 shots.
