Raw Needs A Boost, and Fast
Why does it seem that every week with these celebrity hosts, Raw gets just a bit worse.
Whether it be Cedric the Entertainer (who isn't funny to begin with) "beating" Chavo Guerrer, or Seth Green fighting in a match, it seems the WWE is content on selling their soul to celebrities to get a cheap pop.
I think this has greatly brought down the quality of Raw. I found Monday's edition hard to watch.
First, you have the non-funny Cedric show up with an unnecessary amount of non-funny people. Sure, the Bella twins were a nice touch, but come on.
Then, you had the ridiculously long DX segment, complete with the first "no contest" of the night when Ted Dibiase and Shawn Michaels got involved in the HHH-Rhodes match.
The only entertaining part of the night was watching the Miz dominated that midget Evan Bourne.
And why does the WWE insist on putting 15-minute "contract signings" on live television. I could watch the Apprentice for crap like that.
This has been the way of the WWE the past couple years. It is far too much like a cheap soap opera. You have mediocre wrestlers like Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase getting way to much face time with Randy Orton, while guys like Kofi Kingston and The Miz are held on the mid-card. I couldn't even make myself watch anymore after the contract signing Monday, and that may be why the ratings have been so low for Raw.
DID YOU KNOW?
WWE Raw is watched by more people....WHO CARES. Another part of WWE programming that drives me nuts. Let's flaunt our success, while burying the competition. Isn't that exactly what WCW did during the Monday Night Wars.
Raw needs someone other than John Cena to take over the top spot. MVP, Kofi, Swagger, anyone. Just stop with the Superman John Cena bull. He wrestles like a robot, and his jokes suck worse than Orton's mic skills.
To top it all off, they send Batista to Smackdown, leaving them with maybe four top guys. Orton, Cena, HHH, Michaels. That's about it. Until they get a few more viable challengers for the WWE Title, Raw will continue to decline.
The next celebrity guest host, the Reverend who supports Obama. Wow, I wonder who will be next...Tony Romo? So he can drop the ball and continue Raw's plunge into the abyss.
