Best Booking Options for Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns at WWE TLC 2015
Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns provides quite the conundrum for WWE.
The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus, will put his WWE world heavyweight title on the line against Reigns in a Table, Ladders and Chairs match Sunday. It’s the Survivor Series rematch that lasted five minutes and 15 seconds.
Reigns won the tournament to become WWE champion, defeating United States champion Alberto Del Rio and Dean Ambrose on the same night. He celebrated but Sheamus, who possessed the Money in the Bank briefcase, interrupted him. The Celtic Warrior cashed in and hit two Brogue Kicks to become the champion.

Sheamus, the new WWE world heavyweight champion, became brash, arrogant and proud of his victory. He coveted revenge and was rewarded with his rematch with Sheamus at WWE TLC.
The question to ponder is how will this match go? Both titans have similar styles and are proven in extreme environments. They also have their respective allies who could possibly be in the mix during this bout.
Sheamus’ League of Nations has a representative from each country. The League of Nations, comprised of Del Rio (Mexico), King Barrett (United Kingdom), Rusev (Bulgaria) and Sheamus (Ireland), are no pushovers.
Luckily for Reigns, he has his family to back him up. Ambrose, his old Shield teammate, and The Usos are more than willing to come to Reigns’ aid.
Despite these possible factors, the match must be made. It’s time to examine the best booking options for Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns at WWE TLC 2015.
As mentioned earlier, both are resilient WWE Superstars who can thrive under hardcore conditions. This will be Sheamus’ first TLC match, as Reigns will be entering his second one from his prior effort with The Shield defeating Kane, Daniel Bryan and Ryback three years ago.
Reigns has the edge in experience, thanks to his prior encounter, but Sheamus has the experience as champion. The four-time world champion knows what it takes to successfully defend that title.
Expect the match to have hard-hitting, smash-mouth action. They won’t be soaring in the air frequently. They want to pummel each other until neither man can continue.
The smart bet is to have an all-out war between the two rivals and their allies. However, the possibility of an all-out war shouldn’t happen due to other commitments. Specifically, Ambrose will face Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental title, The Usos will battle The Lucha Dragons and The New Day for the tag team titles in a ladder match.
Even Sheamus’ faction is pretty booked. Del Rio is booked against Jack Swagger in a chairs match. Rusev will also battle Ryback in singles competition. That only leaves Barrett free to interfere.
If you look at the matches, Reigns’ allies have plenty of problems on their hands. Kevin Owens will be no cakewalk for Ambrose, as evident from their Survivor Series encounter. The Usos’ ladder match will take a toll on the tag team as well.
The best option is to stack the deck against Reigns. Having Del Rio, Barrett and Rusev cost Reigns the match establishes Sheamus’ stable as a legitimate threat and also provides more heel heat on the WWE champion, who is jeered enough to begin with by the fans.
It also protects both men’s careers. Reigns, despite being thrust into the main event, might have become damaged goods.
Roman Reigns has had setback after setback in the WWE title picture. He lost at WrestleMania and Survivor Series to men with the Money in the Bank briefcase, which must have taken a toll on his reputation, let alone his psyche.
Frankly, it’s the best option because of the fans’ response. They hate Sheamus more than they like Reigns. That’s not what WWE wants on their hands: another champion booed out of the building for doing the right thing.
This match won’t be for the weak at heart. Toss finesse out the window for tomorrow, as Sheamus and Roman Reigns will vie for the title in one of the most dangerous matches in WWE history. Whether WWE Creative books the smart route remains to be seen.
