The kick that finished off Emma wasn't the only memorable one by Asuka, as NXT shared video of another impressive move off the ropes:

Wrestling Inc provided its take on the match:

There was a great deal of excitement surrounding Asuka's NXT arrival, as she has made a big name for herself in Japan over many years. She has a reputation for being one of the most skilled and physical female wrestlers in the world, which was clear as soon as she made the jump to the United States.

Two people weren't overly thrilled to see Asuka, tough: Emma and Dana Brooke immediately targeted her, attempting to break her spirit.

That led to a match between Asuka and Dana at NXT TakeOver: Respect, which the Japanese star won decisively.

Despite watching her friend get systematically picked apart, Emma decided to continue to go after Asuka in hopes of landing a match of her own.

The Australian Diva and Dana even devised a plan to throw Asuka off her game. While Asuka thought she was going to have a rematch against Brooke, Emma attacked her from behind and wore her down with the Emma Lock.

After that, Emma took on an even more aggressive personality and continued to mock Asuka leading up to NXT TakeOver: London.

There was plenty of anticipation surrounding the match, since Asuka is a great attraction due to her stiffness in the ring, while Emma is widely regarded as one of the best female workers WWE has to offer.

Their styles seemed to mesh extremely effectively, which made for a highly entertaining match that once again raised the profile of women's wrestling in NXT.

Despite the fact that Emma had some support in the form of Dana, there is no question that Asuka was the overwhelming favorite entering TakeOver, since she has been portrayed as a dominant and nearly unstoppable force.

While Emma certainly performed well in her own right, the match was largely about furthering Asuka's reputation as the fastest-rising female wrestler in WWE's system.

Now that Asuka has so much momentum on her side, it may not be long before she sets her sights on the NXT Women's Championship.

A ton of female talent has made its way through NXT over the past couple of years, but after watching Asuka put on another thrilling performance at TakeOver, it is possible that she is at or near the top of that list.
