Kirk Cousins, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon's Post-Week 13 Fantasy Advice

Daniel KramerDec 7, 2015

The Washington Redskins remarkably remain in a tie for first place in the middling NFC East at 5-7 despite Monday’s 19-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Redskins offense was held to just 267 yards, which didn’t bode well for fantasy owners of quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon.

Cousins’ ceiling rose during the middle of the season as Washington started winning. He had four games with more than 20 points, including Week 12 vs. the New York Giants, but the Cowboys’ second-ranked pass defense held him to 12 fantasy points.

Cousins is owned in just 26.6 percent of leagues, but owners should be skeptical given the looming matchups that remain.

The Redskins face the Chicago Bears' third-best pass defense in Week 14 and the Cowboys again in the regular-season finale at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Those matchups don’t bode well—particularly given they’re in the thick of the fantasy playoffs.

Playoff owners seeking a backup or alternate QB may want to look at the Tennessee Titans’ Marcus Mariota, who is averaging 17.9 points per game when healthy. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is available in 62.2 percent of leagues.

Jackson has now had at least 10 points in three straight weeks, but he didn’t boost his worth Monday until hauling in a touchdown with 44 seconds remaining.

Jackson missed six games with an injury but appears to be back in full form. He’ll be a roll-of-the-dice option in the playoffs given the Redskins’ pair of matchups in the final four games against two of the three top pass defenses.

Garcon has had just one game with more than 10 points, and that was in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He not an ideal add in any format, particularly given the remaining slate.
