Breaking Down Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns
After continually battling against each other since Sheamus stole the world heavyweight championship at Survivor Series. Reigns finally gets his chance at redemption in the main event of the TLC match.
Unfortunately, the interactions between the champion and No. 1 contender have not lived up to the hype. Reigns has been given the opportunity to lead the company as the top face, but he has dropped the ball.
With stars like John Cena, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan all on the shelf, the stage was set for Reigns to take the position as the primary focus of the company. While Vince McMahon and WWE officials are still all-in on Reigns, he has failed to make any positive impression.
Sheamus hasn’t been much better, either. The Celtic Warrior is a major focus for WWE, coming out of Survivor Series, but he has been positioned—for most of the build—as a complete joke. Having the backing of The League of Nations was a great start, but WWE books the entire faction to look weak.
Despite the fact that this match has the brutal tables, ladders and chairs stipulation attached, the excitement from the WWE Universe is lower than it should be. Reigns vs. Sheamus is not the correct answer in the main event, and the result will be lackluster excitement in the matchup.
TLC’s main event does not live up to expectations, and the result will be an event that is easily forgotten by fans heading into Royal Rumble 2016 and WrestleMania 32.
Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns
