Marshall Records 1,000 Receiving Yards for 4th Different Team

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 8, 2015

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall set an NFL record during Sunday's 23-20 overtime win over the New York Giants, becoming the first player in league history to record 1,000-yard receiving seasons for four different teams, per the Elias Sports Bureau (h/t ESPN Stats & Info).

Naturally, the 31-year-old set his record in a dominant performance, catching 12 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets, with his score and the ensuing extra point tying the game at 20 in the final minute of regulation.

He added receptions of 13 and 10 yards on the field-goal drive in overtime, eventually finishing his day with 83 catches for 1,062 yards and 10 touchdowns through the first 12 games of the season.

Marshall is now on pace to catch 111 passes for 1,416 yards and 13 touchdowns, with the latter number representing what would be a career high.

He already has five separate seasons with triple-digit catches, but having mostly played in mediocre offenses, he's never scored more than 12 times in a single campaign.

Marshall's previous 1,000-yard seasons occurred as a member of the Denver Broncos (2007-09), Miami Dolphins (2010-11) and Chicago Bears (2012-13), with the superstar wideout going over the mark in seven consecutive campaigns from 2007 to 2013.

He's only fallen shy of 1,000 yards twice—first in his rookie season of 2006, then again last year when injuries limited both his effectiveness and ability to stay on the field (13 games played).
