When Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown went down with an injury during Monday night's 33-27 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the folks over at Brokaw—a Cleveland advertising agency—made sure they had their duct tape ready.
The Browns announced Tuesday that they'd placed McCown on injured reserve with a broken clavicle, finishing his season. As a result, the team had to decide on its starter for Sunday's game against the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals: Austin Davis or Johnny Manziel.
Head coach Mike Pettine named Davis the starter Wednesday, meaning Brokaw had to update the infamous Browns quarterback jersey.
With five games left to play, the Browns are on their third starting quarterback of 2015. The team recently signed Terrelle Pryor to add depth to the receiving corps, but considering he is a former quarterback, there is always a chance his name could wind up on the QB jersey.
Nobody can predict how quickly more names will be added to the shirt. The only thing that's clear is that Brokaw might want to start looking for a taller mannequin.
