Twitter Loves Gerard Deulofeu and Everton in League Cup Win vs. Boro

Everton fans had plenty of reasons to smile on Tuesday night.

The Toffees qualified for the last four of the Capital One Cup with victory over Middlesbrough and in doing so witnessed the continued rise of Gerard Deulofeu:

The Spanish winger scored one and set up the other in a brilliant first-half display:

He terrorised the Boro defender who had the misfortune of being tasked with marking him:

And his emerging partnership with Romelu Lukaku had the fans swooning:

Supporters were giving Roberto Martinez credit for some shrewd business:

But some were thinking Deulofeu might want to swap Merseyside for Catalonia in a hurry:

There were a few Deulofeu theatrics in the second half:

Not everyone was bothered, though:

Everton remained solid in the second half to record a 2-0 win and book their spot in the League Cup semi-finals.

Next up for Martinez is Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday.
