Early Week 3 NFL Picks

Even with the Monday Night game still fresh in our heads, you guys already want next weeks winners. So while it’s a little early to make my Week 3 NFL Predictions, I’ll give you guys a glimpse into what I’m thinking for this week.

New York Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The Giants are currently favored by a touchdown but this screams TRAP to me. It’s really the classic trap game. A top team coming off a big last second divisional road win goes and visits a team that’s struggling big time. What screams out trap even more? The Giants are currently seven point road favorites according to BoDog. I think the Giants will pull this one out but it will be closer then people think.

San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings – This is a surprisingly big contest in the early goings of this season. Both teams are undefeated and actually looking like solid contenders. I think the Vikings are going to bring the Niners back to life in this one thou. Adrian Peterson is just too good and I don’t really believe in Frank Gore. Take away Gore’s two big runs and his line would be a paltry 14 carries for 48 yards, more in line with his subpar performances.

Washington Redskins @ Detroit Lions – This could be a big week for the Lions. The Redskins offense is just atrocious at putting the ball in the end zone so it won’t take much to beat them. Could the Lions put up 20 points? It might be a lot to ask, but if they do they could put a W in the win column.

New Orleans Saints @ Buffalo Bills – If I was Terrell Owens, I’d definitely say get your popcorn ready. This has the makings of a high scoring shootout. Can the Saints score 40 again? Can the Bills high powered offense keep up? This could be the most enjoyable game of the week.

Those are the only games I have any type of thoughts about yet, but I wanted to give you something. I know you guys are eagerly awaiting Week 3 to start. Come Thursday, I’ll release the full Week 3 picks with scores and a recap of how I did in Week 2.
