Pouncey Injury Big Blow to Dolphins O-Line
Pouncey, 26, has established himself as a key player on Miami's offense. The two-time Pro Bowler has solidified the center position for the Dolphins since the team selected him in the first round of the 2011 draft.
Injuries have been somewhat of a concern this year, however, as Pouncey suffered a foot injury in the team's Week 12 loss to the New York Jets.
Rookie guard Jamil Douglas will once again slide into the center position in Pouncey's stead. As Craig Davis of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel noted after Pouncey's Week 12 injury, "The Dolphins count so much on Mike Pouncey they didn't even list a backup at center. They don't have another one on the roster."
In other words, losing Pouncey is a huge blow for an offense that has had its struggles this season with the starting center in the lineup. Pouncey is the team's best offensive lineman, so quarterback Ryan Tannehill, running back Lamar Miller and company will certainly be feeling the impact from Pouncey remaining on the sideline.
