Winston Sets Buccaneers Rookie Record for Passing Yards
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston finished Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts with 2,650 passing yards this season, putting him 42 ahead of current backup Mike Glennon (2,608 in 2013) for the franchise's rookie record for passing yards, per Jenna Laine of Sports Talk 1040.
Winston broke the record despite playing one of his worst games in recent weeks, completing just 20 of his 36 pass attempts for 245 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
The statistics weren't all that terrible, but his team's inability to score any points in the second half allowed the Colts to storm back from a 12-6 halftime deficit for an easy 25-12 win.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Winston, the first overall selection in the 2015 NFL draft, has still been more promising than Glennon was in his own rookie year, completing 58 percent of his passes for 7.6 yards per attempt with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through 11 games.
Glennon, a third-round selection, actually completed a slightly higher percentage (59.4) of his passes as a rookie, but he only put up 6.3 yards per attempt, albeit with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 13 games (all starts).
The Bucs went 4-9 in Glennon's 13 appearances, prompting the team to sign veteran quarterback Josh McCown the following offseason.
With the current iteration of the Bucs owning a better-than-expected 5-6 record through 11 games, there's zero doubt whatsoever that Winston is the franchise's quarterback of both the present and the future.
