Internet Reaction as Liverpool Climb Premier League with 1-0 Win over Swansea

A buoyant Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp hosted Swansea City in the Premier League on Sunday knowing three points would move them into sixth and within touching distance of a European spot.

The Reds thrashed Manchester City at the Etihad eight days earlier and recovered to defeat Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night.

There was even room for injury-plagued Daniel Sturridge in their matchday squad, the Englishman taking his place on the Liverpool bench to the delight of the home fans.

It certainly wasn't the most inspiring of first-half performances as the two sides went into the sheds locked at 0-0.

Finally, seven minutes into the second half came the moment everyone was waiting for.

Not long after, Liverpool had a penalty for handball, and James Milner duly obliged from the spot.

Then it was time for Sturridge and Jordan Henderson to make their long-awaited first-team returns.

The early signs were good for Daniel Sturridge...

But fans grew restless as the clock ticked down and it became clear the Reds were in for a close one.

But Liverpool hung on to pick up a vital three points as Jurgen Klopp's side jumped four spots into sixth on the ladder, just four points outside a Champions League place. The German was in for more praise...
