Daily Fantasy Hockey 2015: DraftKings NHL Optimal Lineup for November 28

Steve SilvermanNov 28, 2015

Vladimir Tarasenko may be the top sniper in the NHL this season.

The St. Louis Blues man is tied for second in the NHL in goal scoring with 13, trailing Jamie Benn of the Dallas Stars. But there's a big difference between those two scorers. Benn will go right to the net and scores many of his goals within five feet of the goal. Tarasenko has a whipping wrist shot and a snap shot he gets away in an instant.

When it comes to finding the top corner, Tarasenko can hit it better than any Blues shooter, and he is clearly in the top five in the NHL in that category.

Tarasenko has scored 22 points in 22 games this season, and it would not be a surprise to see him keep up that pace or improve on it throughout the rest of the season. Tarasenko comes at a salary of $7,800, and he is the anchor of our $50,000 Draft Kings lineup for Saturday night. The Blues play the Columbus Blue Jackets at home, and Tarasenko should be good for at least one goal.

Centers: Tomas Plekanec, Montreal Canadiens ($6,100) and Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles Kings ($5,000)

Tomas Plekanec has been one of the key reasons why the Montreal Canadiens have been so hot this season and risen to the top of the Atlantic Division. While Max Pacioretty and P.K. Subban get most of the headlines, Plekanec is a dynamic playmaker who excels at both ends of the ice.

Plekanec has scored seven goals and 16 assists this term, and he has been on a point-per-game pace recently, notching 11 in his last 11 games. The Canadiens host the New Jersey Devils in the second game of a home-and-home series. Look for Plekanec to pick up two assists as the Habs win at home.

Anze Kopitar has not gotten off to a good start this year, but he is finding the range and appears to be headed for a hot streak. Kopitar has scored 11 points in his first 22 games, but he has seven points in his last 10 games.

Kopitar and the Kings face the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, and Jonathan Toews and co. could be quite vulnerable. The Blackhawks put on an amazing comeback to beat the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, as they rallied from a late 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 in overtime. The Blackhawks may not have enough gas in the tank to compete for 60 minutes here, so look for Kopitar to have a multiple-point game.

Wings: Vladimir Tarasenko, St. Louis Blues ($7,800), Milan Lucic, Los Angeles Kings ($4,700) and Mike Hoffman, Ottawa Senators ($5,200)

Tarasenko is connecting on 15.9 percent of his shots this year, and he is averaging 19:45 of ice time, which is more than two minutes a game more than he averaged last year, when he scored 37 goals.

Milan Lucic is fitting in nicely with the Los Angles Kings. The burly former Boston Bruins left winger has scored seven goals and six assists in 22 games with his new team, but he has been picking up the pace recently with five goals in his last 10 games. He has connected on 35.7 percent of his shots in that span, and he could make the Blackhawks pay at the Staples Center on Saturday.

Mike Hoffman was one of the big reasons why the Ottawa Senators were able to make an outstanding run in the second half of last season and make the playoffs. He did that with his goal scoring, notching 27 goals and 21 assists.

This year, Hoffman is playing a more complete game, and his passing has improved. He has scored eight goals and 11 assists in 18 games. The Senators have scored 12 goals in their last two games, and they have a chance to put another big number on the board at Arizona against the Coyotes. Look for Hoffman to score a goal and add an assist.

Defensemen: John Klingberg, Dallas Stars ($5,900) and Tyson Barrie, Colorado Avalanche ($4,700)

John Klingberg continues to rack up points for the surging Dallas Stars. He is an offensive-minded defenseman who always seems to be in the right position to take a shot or make the perfect tape-to-tape pass for head coach Lindy Ruff's team. Klingberg has four goals and 21 assists in 23 games this season, and he should be good for another strong effort when the Stars go to Minnesota to face the Wild on Saturday night. Klingberg made an assist on Friday night against the Vancouver Canucks.

Tyson Barrie does not put up the same kind of numbers for the Colorado Avalanche that Klingberg puts up for the Stars. However, Barrie is a magnificent skater who can take the puck from deep in his own end to the scoring areas and shoot or set up his teammates with good scoring opportunities. The Avs host the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. Look for Barrie to build on his 14 points this season in that game.

NEWARK, NJ - NOVEMBER 27: Mike Condon #39 of the Montreal Canadiens makes a third period save against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center on November 27, 2015 in Newark, New Jersey. The Canadiens defeated the Devils 3-2 in the shootout. (Photo

Goalie: Mike Condon, Montreal Canadiens ($7,500)

Mike Condon filled in brilliantly for Carey Price when the Canadiens' No. 1 goalie was hurt earlier this season, and now Price is hurt again, there's no reason to think Condon won't be just as good or better. Condon has an excellent catching glove and superb reflexes, and he should be able to get the best of the Devils as the Habs face them for the second straight night.
