Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Andre Ayew and Rico Henry Rumours

Rory MarsdenNov 26, 2015

Liverpool target Andre Ayew has hinted that he could be open to a move to a bigger club in the future.

The Swansea City star has previously been reported as a top target for Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who tried to sign him twice when he was in charge at Borussia Dortmund, per ESPN FC's Pete O'Rourke.

In a potential boost for Liverpool, Ayew has now indicated that he could be open to a move away from the Liberty Stadium, per French outlet RMC (via the ExpressDavid Wright):

"

Before I signed for Swansea, I had offers from big clubs. It was a choice that I really thought about. I weighed up the positives and the negatives, my age, what I want to achieve in football and how I was going to get there. Swansea gave me everything that I wanted, in terms of football and financially. Now, I am ambitious and we will see what happens.

Ayew only joined the Swans in the summer, on a free transfer from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.

He has been impressive early in his Premier League career, netting six goals in 13 Premier League appearances, per WhoScored.com.

Per Bleacher Report's Dean Jones, Liverpool have also been linked with West Ham United attacker Manuel Lanzini as Klopp looks to add further strength to his front line, but the Argentinian looks set to stay at Upton Park.

Ayew, 25, would be a brilliant alternative signing as he can play across the front three and would provide competition and cover for the likes Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings.

He has the necessary invention and creativity to fit well into Klopp's side and could be open to a move away from Swansea if they fail to get out of their current slump—they have won just once in their last nine Premier League matches.

According to Bruce Archer in the Express, Liverpool are also looking to battle Manchester United for the signing of young Walsall left-back Rico Henry in the January transfer window.

Saddlers manager Dean Smith compared the youngster to former England left-back Ashley Cole and suggested it would take "a hell of a lot of money" to sign the 18-year-old, per Archer.

But that is unlikely to put Liverpool off pursuing the talented Henry, who could be a useful addition to Klopp's squad, as Alberto Moreno is the only orthodox option on the left side of the Reds' defence.
