Liverpool fans were in a buoyant mood on Thursday.

Fresh in the memory was the 4-1 win at the Etihad on Saturday evening, Jurgen Klopp has rapidly become the Premier League's most loveable manager and they were looking to secure Europa League qualification against Bordeaux at Anfield.

Things were starting to look up on Merseyside. Nothing could bring them down.

That was until the club confirmed Daniel Sturridge would miss the Bordeaux game.

Fans were crushed, if not surprised, to hear of the England forward's latest setback.

Given his history with the physio's table, some fans had even forgotten Sturridge existed.

In fact, Sturridge is fast approaching having missed more games through injury than he's actually played for the Reds.

While it remains unclear how long the injury will rule him out for, it's fair to say Liverpool fans aren't so chuffed with their luck this term.

Jurgen Klopp's side are back in action in the Premier League against Swansea this weekend.
