The Washington Redskins apparently didn't learn their lesson last year and decided to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving on Thursday.

Not surprisingly, it once again did not go over well on Twitter.

Things got started Thursday morning with a simple tweet and an accompanying graphic. Then, the backlash came early and often.

Washington Redskins @Redskins

Wishing you and your family a Happy #Thanksgiving. https://t.co/qI3U7hbGhK

KFC @KFCBarstool

I absolutely love the lack of self awareness in this tweet. God bless the Internet https://t.co/BwBQ7UtTWJ

Playoff Unc. @WayneL_Jr

Well this is awkward... RT @Redskins: Wishing you and your family a Happy #Thanksgiving. https://t.co/DMeStfYn0f

Andrew Luck @FauxAndyLuck

Maybe y'all take today off... “@Redskins: Wishing you and your family a Happy #Thanksgiving. https://t.co/6Bnb1Ehu5u”

While Washington meant for this to be an innocent tweet to wish its fans a happy Thanksgiving, perhaps it would be best to not do this again next year.
