Lakers Finish Game Without 11-Point Scorer for 1st Time

Bleacher Report MilestonesNov 25, 2015

The 2015-16 Los Angeles Lakers made a small bit of unwanted franchise history in Tuesday's ugly 111-77 loss to the Golden State Warriors, finishing a regular-season contest without any players scoring more than 10 points for the first time in their NBA tenure, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN Stats & Info).

Said tenure goes back to 1948, encompassing 68 seasons and 5,301 games.

To be fair, the Lakers did have three players who scored exactly 10 points in Tuesday's game, with guard Lou Williams and forwards Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. doing the honors.

Still, it was a truly pitiful performance, with the Lakers getting just 28 points out of their starting five, whereas Warriors guard Stephen Curry single-handedly poured in 24.

Of course, the Lakers' unwanted record will merely be a side note from a truly historic night, as the Warriors set a record of their own by becoming the first team in NBA history to open a season with 16 consecutive wins.

Golden State unsurprisingly earned the record in emphatic fashion, outscoring Los Angeles 30-11 in the first quarter and never looking back.

Nance Jr., the 27th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft, was the only bright spot for the Lakers, finishing with double-digit points for the second time through the first nine games of his career.

It will undoubtedly be a season full of searches for silver linings, as the 2-12 Lakers already appear to have no hope of making the playoffs.
