Week 12 NFL Betting Odds Picks: Chargers, Saints, Vikings Top Choices

OddsShark.comNov 25, 2015

If you did not look at each team’s record, you would never think the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6) would be listed as betting favorites against the San Diego Chargers (2-8).

But the Chargers are in the midst of an abysmal campaign and still do not know where they will call home next year, adding extra anxiety to the situation for both coaches and players. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have a legit shot at winning the AFC South.

This is only the second time since 2010 that Jacksonville has been favored by more than a field goal at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark, and the team is 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games as chalk.

But the Jaguars have also gone 1-6 straight up in their last seven games following a victory and will be facing a San Diego team that has won the past four meetings. In addition, the Chargers are 11-2 SU and 12-0-1 ATS in their last 13 matchups versus AFC South opponents, so back the Bolts to end their six-game losing streak.

Two other teams that will rebound in Week 12 are the New Orleans Saints (4-6) and Minnesota Vikings (7-3).

The Saints are coming off their bye week, which followed a brutal 47-14 road loss to the Washington Redskins as one-point favorites. New Orleans fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan after that game and replaced him with Dennis Allen, who has the tough task of turning around a unit that ranks last in the NFL, surrendering 31.5 points and 424.3 yards per game.

But the Saints get to visit the Houston Texans (5-5) as three-point road underdogs, and they have gone 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as dogs, according to the Odds Shark NFL Database. New Orleans has also performed well after the bye, going 6-0 ATS in its last six, so look for the offensively challenged Texans to get upset.

The Vikings are two-point dogs visiting the struggling Atlanta Falcons (6-4), who have dropped four of five following a 5-0 start and failed to cover six in a row. Minnesota did not cover the spread for the first time in nine games last week, losing 30-13 at home against the Green Bay Packers.

But the Vikings have shown a great tendency to bounce back under head coach Mike Zimmer, going 7-1 ATS in their past eight after a loss. Take Minnesota to get back on track with a win and extend Atlanta’s woes.
