The Sabres announced they had brought Lehner back from Rochester, sending goaltender Linus Ullmark down as part of the roster move.

Lehner Comments on Recovery, Timeline

Tuesday, Dec. 29

Lehner said, per Joe Yerdon of NHL.com, that he suffered a setback about eight weeks into recovery that was tough mentally.

"I can pretty much do whatever, but I still have a little issue around my right post," Lehner said, per John Vogl of the Buffalo News. "I'm pretty much 100 percent to practice."

Lehner's Presence Vital for Sabres

Linus Ullmark started off steady in goal for the Sabres. In his first nine games, Ullmark notched a 4-4-1 record with a .925 save percentage and a mark of a 2.28 goals-against average.

However, Ullmark had faltered ever since, and Buffalo is now well off the pace in the Eastern Conference. If the Sabres plan to make a playoff push, Lehner will need to return to top form in the net sooner rather than later.
