Daily Fantasy Hockey 2015: NHL DFS DraftKings Best Player Picks for November 25

Steven CookNov 25, 2015

The midweek NHL slate is somewhat stunted this week with a small slate on Tuesday making way for a jam-packed Wednesday schedule, but that just means DraftKings players have to wait until tonight to take advantage.

With 13 matchups on tap for Wednesday night's action, all but four teams are in play, and that leaves us a wealth of options for daily fantasy.

Forwards

Alex Ovechkin, LW, Washington Capitals ($9,400)

The amazing Alex Ovechkin is a bank-breaker in terms of salary for Wednesday, but he's well worth splurging on and making up for elsewhere in your lineup.

No matter how you slice it, Ovechkin has been easy money in daily fantasy this season and especially of late. Not only has he scored in two of his last three games and is averaging more than half a goal per game, but he's going up against a Winnipeg Jets team that gave up 18 goals in a three-game span not long ago.

Frans Nielsen, C, New York Islanders ($5,000)

A great way to make up for the lost salary from Ovechkin is to stack up on forwards around the $5,000 range, and Frans Nielsen is the first one up to hang a strong DK total for Wednesday.

Neilsen is putting up big numbers of late, scoring three times and amassing five points in his last four games. With two DK outings surpassing eight points in that span, the New York Islanders center should keep it going against a poor Philadelphia Flyers defense.

Mike Cammalleri, LW, New Jersey Devils ($5,200)

Mike Cammalleri is another forward who has been turning in strong production at a well-affordable price tag, and Wednesday is another opportunity to cash in. He faces a Columbus Blue Jackets squad who has given up 71 goals—the second most in the league and tops for teams in action Wednesday.

Coming off a goal and two-assist outing last time out against Vancouver, the New Jersey Devils winger should keep it rolling against Columbus.

Artem Anisimov, C, Chicago Blackhawks ($4,400)

Don't be scared off by Artem Anisimov when you have to scroll way down on the centers to find him at a $4,400 salary—that's just further proof that he's vastly outplaying his expectations for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Anisimov is riding an incredible hot streak recently, putting up a point in five straight games, and that should continue against San Jose—who ranks 23rd against opposing centers.

Defensemen

Karl Alzner, D, Washington Capitals ($3,900)

Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner is a cheap option at under $4,000 on DK, but he's not playing like it, consistently putting up numbers with his proficiency in blocked shots and the occasional assist.

He's a threat to score as he showed with his second goal of the season two games ago versus Colorado, and he could add to that total against a Winnipeg squad ranking second to last against blueliners.

Goaltender

Chad Johnson OR Linus Ullmark, G, Buffalo Sabres ($6,300)

It's not clear as of yet who will be getting the start in net for the Buffalo Sabres come Wednesday night, but whoever it is has a strong chance to overplay his value.

That's because the Nashville Predators are in the midst of a franchise-worst goal drought, going over three games and 10 periods without hitting the net. Even so, the Preds rank in the top five in shots per game, which will give either Chad Johnson or Linus Ullmark plenty of opportunity to rack up DK points.
