There was something in the air on Tuesday. You just knew Barcelona were going to do something special.
It looked as though that might have come earlier in the day in their youth match against Roma.

But then came the news everyone was hoping for: Lionel Messi would start for the senior side in their Champions League match at Camp Nou.
Barca started well, racing to a 3-0 lead thanks to their unstoppable front three of Neymar, Messi and Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan had two, Messi one, and they could have so many more in a blistering first half.
After the break, they added to their lead, bizarrely by not one but two men not named Messi, Neymar or Suarez.
But it didn't take too long before a familiar name got on the scoresheet.
Even their mistakes resulted in goals.

And Marc-Andre Ter Stegen was next-to-unbeatable at the back.

Edin Dzeko nodded home a late consolation goal for the visitors, but 6-1 it finished and Luis Enrique's side won the praise of the footballing world.

They top their group and will have struck fear into anybody who has the misfortune of drawing them in the next round.
