Oklahoma Sooners vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys Betting Odds, College Football Pick

OddsShark.comNov 23, 2015

Oklahoma owns the football rivalry with kid brother Oklahoma State, leading the all-time series 84-18, but the Cowboys are trying to turn the table on the Sooners, winning two of the last four meetings outright, going 3-1 against the spread.

In another big game, perhaps the biggest, in the Big 12 this season, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State battle it out in the Bedlam game Saturday night in Stillwater.

Point spread: The Sooners opened as 3.5-point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark (line updates and matchup report).

Why the Oklahoma Sooners can cover the spread

Oklahoma moved to 7-1 in Big 12 play and remained in the running for a spot in the College Football Playoff by beating TCU last week 30-29. The Sooners grabbed a 23-7 halftime lead on the Frogs and then fended off a late rally, making a stop on a two-point conversion attempt in the final minute to preserve the victory.

On the day, Oklahoma outgained TCU 536-390, and most of the Frogs' yardage came as they played catch-up. So on the season, the Sooners have outgained every opponent but one.

OU is also 4-0 both SU and ATS on the road this year. With a victory Saturday, Oklahoma clinches the Big 12 title and perhaps a spot in this season's College Football Playoff.

Why the Oklahoma State Cowboys can cover the spread

The Cowboys started 10-0 this season and 6-4 ATS but lost at home to Baylor last week 45-35. OSU fell down 14-0, tied the game at 14-14, fell down 38-14 and then rallied to within 38-28 with five minutes to go but couldn't complete the comeback.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph did what he could to keep the Cowboys close, throwing for 430 yards and three touchdowns, but the Oklahoma State defense gave up too many big plays.

The Cowboys may have lost, but they still hit the 35-point mark for the sixth time in their last seven games. At 7-1 in conference play, Oklahoma State can win the Big 12 championship with a victory and help from TCU in the form of a Frogs victory over Baylor on Friday.

Smart pick

Oklahoma owns the advantage on both sides of the ball, and while quarterback Baker Mayfield is questionable for this week after suffering a head injury, backup Trevor Knight isn't exactly a newbie. Also, Oklahoma State upset the Sooners last season, winning outright as a three-touchdown dog in Norman. So perhaps the Sooners have revenge in mind for Saturday. Take OU.
