Cesaro Comments on Injury
Monday, Nov. 23
In an interview with WWE.com, Cesaro revealed that he tore his left rotator cuff and that he has had the injury for two months.
Cesaro revealed he will have the surgery Monday afternoon and that a timeline for his recovery is four-to-six months.
Cesaro's Injury the Latest In String of Injuries to Top Stars
In retrospect, the fact Cesaro failed to advance to the semifinals of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament worked out better for WWE. Otherwise, it would've had to tweak one of the two tournament matches on the Survivor Series card.
With regard to the bigger picture, losing Cesaro long term would only exacerbate WWE's current injury problems. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton will both likely miss WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Rusev is still out following a bicep tendon rupture in October, and John Cena remains on a self-imposed hiatus. Nobody knows when or if Daniel Bryan will return to a WWE ring either.
Cesaro may not be one of WWE's main event stars, but he's one of the company's best in-ring workers and guaranteed to deliver compelling matches in the midcard. Taking him out of the equation will leave WWE scrambling even more as it pieces together its plans for WrestleMania 32 on April 3.
