Isco Receives Red Card for Kick on Neymar in El Clasico: Comments and Reaction
Real Madrid's nightmare first Clasico of this season got worse when Isco was given a red card for a kick on Barcelona forward Neymar Jr. Already trailing by four goals, the last thing Los Blancos needed was to lose a man.
Trailing to strikes from Luis Suarez, Neymar and Andres Iniesta, a frustrated Madrid side lost all discipline. Isco's gaffe summed up their dreadful day, capped by a 4-0 losing deficit.
The official Twitter account of Spanish publication AS confirmed Isco's dismissal, while offering its own critique of his rash actions:

Sadly, members of a disillusioned home crowd actually appeared to endorse Isco's violent outburst, per ESPN's Dermot Corrigan:
Meanwhile, Catalan publication Sport bluntly condemned the nature of the tackle:
Spanish football writer Sergi Dominguez was even stronger in his assessment of the incident:
Isco's infraction was probably the lone moment of aggression Madrid showed all game. Being on the receiving end of such a humiliating scoreline to a bitter foe in front of home fans was always likely to provoke an unsavoury response from some members of Los Merengues.
The club's supporters undoubtedly wish that kind of emotion had been channeled in the right way from kick-off. If it had, Los Blancos would likely have produced a far better display.
As it is, Isco and the rest of the club are left hanging their heads in shame as they now trail Barca by six points and have already ceded ground and psychological significance in the head-to-head series.
Real's chances of clinching this season's La Liga title already look bleak.
