Scenes broke out on the Jeremy Kyle Show today as one mother inexplicably—and brilliantly—demanded her daughter return a piece of football merchandise.

In a piece of reality television gold unlikely to ever be replicated, the mother—whose plight was subtitled "You abandoned your family and we don't want you back"—requests the return of a Manchester United scarf.

The line drew an immediate reaction from the audience and the show's host.

Kyle himself, usually the living embodiment of calmness and composure, crawled across the stage noticeably stunned, recounting the experience to any viewers at home too astounded to recall what they had just witnessed before throwing to a break to catch his breath.

This one will surely go down alongside the Camp Nou in May 1999 as one of the most memorable moments in Manchester United history.
