Freddy Adu Stars in Bizarre Advert for Hoover

The once-highly rated American footballer Freddy Adu has caught the eye again, 12 years after signing his first professional contract aged just 14.

Now with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League, Adu has yet to live up to his potential, but it turns out his image is still worth a dollar here or there.

The attacker popped up on Twitter on Wednesday endorsing a new Hoover vacuum cleaner in one of the least spectacular sponsorship arrangements of all time.

It's definitely not the most glamorous advert starring a footballer going around, but who could begrudge the guy?
