Undertaker and Kane vs. the Wyatt Family: Final Picks and Predictions

Sebastian MaldonadoNov 21, 2015

The Undertaker and Kane, The Brothers of Destruction, are together again for possibly the last time.

WWE Survivor Series marks the 25th anniversary of The Undertaker’s WWE career where he debuted at the 1990 edition of Survivor Series, and has been a dominant force ever since.

Now, he and his brother will take on the young guards in the serious, combined threat of Bray Wyatt and his family. If I were a betting man, Wyatt would pick Braun Strowman as his partner.

The duo doesn’t hold a candle to the legacy of The Brothers of Destruction. They don’t need to, for they represent The Wyatt Family, the unorthodox brethren who attack WWE Superstars at random. Wyatt and Strowman, along with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, prove no one is safe from the wrath of The Wyatt Family.

That was evident at Hell In A Cell, when they attacked The Undertaker after his brutal battle with Brock Lesnar. After ambushing him, the next night on Raw witnessed Kane being their victim.

It culminated in The Brothers of Destruction reuniting and giving The Wyatt Family a taste of their own medicine. They turned back all four men on November 9, leading to Wyatt challenging both men at Survivor Series.

We’re now almost there, one day away from The Undertaker entering the ring for the 25th year. The question remains a simple one: Will he and his brother be the victors, or will the changing of the guard commence?

Toss finesse out the window. All four men would like to hammer each other to the ground—a strategy that should suit each one just fine. There’s enough bad blood, and it would be very surprising for the referee to keep control during this tag team encounter.

Let’s dissect each combatant and their style not just as a wrestler, but as a team.

The Brothers of Destruction carry a long-storied resume of wars, which led them to become tag team champions in 2001. They’ve been through storied rivalries, feuding with everyone from The Dudley Boyz to the team of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H. Their strong family bond will last the test of time. Either Kane or Undertaker comes to the other’s aid, and they just pick up where they left off.

The Wyatt Family is fresh and hungry to make their presence last a lifetime. They were the ones who claimed the rare victory over The Shield at the 2014 Elimination Chamber event.

What’s fascinating is both teams dominate through similar means: ground-and-pound.

What will separate this match is the youth factor. Wyatt and Strowman are clearly the young guns of the four men. Considering their size and strength, they can overpower veterans Kane and Undertaker.

The Brothers of Destruction need to rely on ingenuity to win. The Undertaker is skilled in submissions as well as his striking ability. He and Kane can wear down The Wyatts enough to get perhaps one of them to submit.

However, the task might be too tough. Strowman hasn’t shown signs of weakness since his debut after SummerSlam. He makes his opponents pass out with a standing head-and-arm triangle, and they dangle from his grip.

If this is the passing of the torch, then Wyatt must pin Undertaker. It would be apropos considering Undertaker defeated Wyatt earlier this year at WrestleMania 31. Revenge would suit Wyatt just fine.

It would also be quite fitting if The Brothers of Destruction were victorious once more. This match marks the quarter-of-a-century anniversary of The Undertaker. Tombstone City might reign supreme come Sunday.

Frankly, we know all good things come to an end.  The cogs on are in motion, and it’s only a matter of time for the old gear to be replaced with a new one.

Expect The Wyatt Family to stun the WWE Universe and walk away as the winners from this big-man match.
