Bazemore Injury Hampers Hawks' Backcourt Depth
The former Old Dominion Monarch is averaging 12 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in his third season. Bazemore has started all 12 games for the Hawks and was replaced Sunday by Thabo Sefolosha after scoring 16 points in 30 minutes.
Sefolosha is recovering from an injury of his own that forced him to miss the end of the regular season and playoffs in the 2014-15 season. He played 23 minutes Sunday, scoring five points and grabbing six rebounds, but has not scored more than 10 points in a game this season.
If this is a high-ankle sprain that causes Bazemore to miss time, it could be an issue for the 8-4 Hawks. He ranks in the top four in scoring, rebounds and steals for Atlanta.
Rookie Lamar Patterson is listed on the depth chart behind Sefolosha and is averaging just 2.4 points per game.
