Mathews Active for Week 14

Sunday, Dec. 13

The team announced that Mathews is available to play against the Buffalo Bills.

Latest on Mathews' Practice Status

Friday, Dec. 11

The Eagles announced that Mathews was a full participant in Thursday and Friday's sessions.

Mathews' Provides Versatile Playmaker for Eagles Offense

Mathews, 28, had rushed for 409 yards and four touchdowns heading into Week 10. He rushed eight times for 18 yards and a score against the Dolphins.

Losing Mathews was a blow for Philly's offense, as he has combined with starter DeMarco Murray and scatback Darren Sproles to give the team one of the league's best backfields. The shiftier Mathews is a natural complement to Murray, who is a more physical, one-cut runner, and at times, Mathews has looked like the better fit in Philly's stretch running attack.

Injuries have been a major part of the narrative of Mathews' career to this point, however, as he missed 20 games in his first five seasons with the San Diego Chargers. While the latest injury forced him to miss multiple games, it's good to see him back in the fold.
