Corey Clement, Wisconsin RB, Reportedly Assaulted in off-Campus Incident

Wisconsin running back Corey Clement suffered a cut hand in an altercation at his apartment over the weekend, the school announced Thursday.

Bleacher Report's Bryan Fischer received the press release from Wisconsin:   

Clement, a junior, has appeared in only two games this season because of injury issues. He went down with a groin injury in Week 1's loss to Alabama before eventually needing sports hernia surgery. While he returned for a 115-yard, three-touchdown outing against Rutgers on Oct. 31, he was held out of last Saturday's game against Maryland.

Expected to take over as the Badgers' primary back after Melvin Gordon's departure, Clement has just 131 yards overall this season. Dare Ogunbowale and Taiwan Deal will continue to handle Wisconsin's rushing duties if the assault causes Clement to miss more time.

His availability for Nov. 21's game against Northwestern is unclear at this time. The background of what transpired at Clement's apartment Sunday has also not been given as police conduct their investigation.
