Tamme's Absence Delivers Blow to Falcons
Tamme has hit the sideline during one of his most successful spells in the NFL. He resurrected his career with the Falcons last year, recording 59 receptions for a career-high 657 yards and one touchdown in 15 games.
Prior to the injury, Tamme was tied for second on the team with three touchdowns and fourth with 22 receptions. The tight end's strong start to the season drew high praise from Atlanta's most dynamic pass-catcher, per Andrew Hirsh of the team's official website:
"Julio says Jacob Tamme gives defenses fits because he's like a WR. Has great hands, runs great routes.

While Tamme recovers, the Falcons can give rookie Austin Hooper and 6'8" target Levine Toilolo more reps.
