Jason Pierre-Paul Comments on Sacking Tom Brady Ahead of Patriots vs. Giants

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul hasn't been back for too long, but he thinks he is going to be in New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's face all Sunday long come their Week 10 matchup. 

That's quite a tall task, as Brady is leading the league's most potent offense and will be facing a Giants defense ranked worst in the NFL. But Pierre-Paul is feeling confident against an 8-0 Patriots team, as he told ESPN.com's Dan Graziano.

"They're undefeated, but they have to come through here. We'll get to the quarterback," he said. "I'm sure of it. I know I will. ... He might have an off game. He might be sick. You don't know. Anything can happen. I hope he's sick. That would be better for us."

Even an under-the-weather Brady is a force to be reckoned with, as he is on pace for a 5,400-yard, 44-touchdown, four-interception season. 

He has hit the turf this season, though, having been sacked 18 times through the team's first eight games. The Giants won a pair of Super Bowls against Brady by knocking him down and frustrating him too, so they have the formula for beating the Patriots.    

But Pierre-Paul just made his season debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9 after a July 4 fireworks accident left his hand badly injured. While he looked pretty sharp, recording two tackles and bringing pressure on rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, getting after Brady will be a whole different challenge—especially because the Giants are dead last in the league with nine sacks all season.

But this is an opportunity for Pierre-Paul to announce to the league he is back and can still be one of the most feared pass-rushers in the NFL. The Giants can also show they still have Brady's and the Patriots' number.
