Teams Wary of Randle Post-Suspension

Wednesday, Nov. 11

Ed Werder of ESPN reported one team interested in Randle won't sign him due to the suspension. Randle, 23, was handed a four-game ban Tuesday after an NFL investigation into a February arrest that included marijuana possession and allegations of domestic violence, per ESPN.com.

Charges against Randle were eventually dropped, but he was still subject to the NFL's personal conduct policy. The former Oklahoma State star was previously arrested last October for shoplifting after stealing underwear and cologne from a mall.

The team categorized a brief absence from the team before his release as a "personal issue," per ESPN.com's Todd Archer, and owner Jerry Jones made public comments insinuating Randle's off-the-field problems were a factor in their decision.

"I'm always concerned as to any issues regarding the [mental] health of a player," Jones said. "It's a lot more serious than the football [injury]."

Randle, a 2013 fifth-round pick, rushed for 315 yards and four touchdowns in the Cowboys' first six games. Darren McFadden has taken over as the team's starting running back, putting together two 100-yard games in his last three appearances.
