Chris Berman Sexual Harassment Claim Settled by ESPN: Latest Details, Reaction
November 11, 2015
ESPN has settled a sexual harassment claim reportedly brought against NFL studio host Chris Berman by former network makeup artist Sue Baumann, according to the Big Lead's Jason McIntyre.
The claim, which reportedly centered around "comments [Berman] allegedly made in the makeup room and text messages going back a few years," per McIntyre, was settled by ESPN following an internal inquiry that did not reveal wrongdoing on Berman's part.
"Our thorough investigation revealed the harassment claims had no merit," ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said, according to McIntyre. "We settled it solely to save a considerable amount of time and litigation costs."
One of the most recognizable personalities at ESPN, Berman has long been a staple of the network's NFL coverage. He's perhaps best known for hosting Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown and has been with the company for nearly the entirety of its existence, which dates back to 1979.
