Kellen Moore Waived by Cowboys: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
The Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden experiments haven't worked out for the Dallas Cowboys, but that didn't stop the team from waiving former Boise State standout Kellen Moore on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Moore was promoted to the Cowboys' active roster on Sept. 22 after the team placed Tony Romo on its short-term injured reserve. However, with Romo expected to return in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 22, according to the Dallas Morning News' Jon Machota, Moore seemingly became expendable.
A corresponding move has yet to be announced, but Dallas suffered a rash of injuries on defense in a 33-27 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Linebacker Sean Lee was chief among the walking wounded Sunday, when he suffered his second concussion in the last five weeks, per Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News.
