Interim head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters the cornerback will need a second surgery on his hamstring, which will end his campaign.
McCourty Struggled with Injury All Season
McCourty has been banged up for much of the season, as a groin injury prevented him from playing until Week 5. A hamstring issue limited him in each of his past two contests, and it has been determined that he won't be able to fight through it.
The former Rutgers star has been in the news a lot lately, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the New England Patriots were interested in potentially trading for him to pair with his twin brother, Devin McCourty.
Rapoport later reported that the Titans are unwilling to move him, however.
With McCourty on the shelf, Coty Sensabaugh and rookie Cody Riggs figure to see increased playing time alongside regular starter Perrish Cox.
