Murphy to Miss 4 to 6 Weeks
Friday, Nov. 6
Florida announced Murphy will be out until December after partially tearing the plantar fascia in his right foot, per the AP.
The time frame indicates he’ll miss at least seven games and may have to watch the Gators’ Dec. 12 test against the No. 13 Michigan State Spartans from the bench.
The 6'8" senior couldn’t put any weight on the injured foot as he was helped to the locker room Thursday, according to Landon Watnick of Rivals.com:
Murphy transferred from Duke in December 2013 and played in 23 contests for Florida last year, scoring 5.1 points and grabbing two rebounds per game.
Under new head coach Mike White, the Gators should be able to take care of business while Murphy recovers. Per the AP, Murphy projects to back up starters Dorian Finney-Smith and DeVon Walker when he returns.
