Thirty-one years later, under the same lights, Spurs faced the Belgians once again hoping for a better result than the 2-1 loss suffered in Anderlecht last month. Before the game, all eyes were on Harry Kane, who appears to have rediscovered his confidence with four goals in his previous two outings:

Manager Mauricio Pochettino named a strong Spurs side, only resting Mousa Dembele and Heung-Min Son. This decision left many to wonder whether they will still have gas in the tank for Sunday's north London Derby:

Anderlecht enjoyed the best of the play up until the 29th minute when Harry Kane broke the deadlock with an unstoppable right-footed shot on the edge of the box:

Kane's strike took Spurs into the dressing room at half-time with the lead, but the general perception was that the visitors were putting on a better show:

Anderlecht also started the second half brightly:

Just past the hour mark, Tottenham might have doubled their lead when Ben Davies hit a superb left-footed shot, only to see it cannon off the bar:

Sadly, Davies' effort didn't count as a shot on target:

In the 72nd minute, Anderlecht finally found the equaliser, thanks to a fantastic finish from substitute Imoh Ezekiel:

The Lilywhites looked to be in danger of throwing the point away until the 87th minute, when substitute Mousa Dembele stepped up to break the hearts of his fellow countrymen with a long-range rocket:

The late beauty from Dembele earned Spurs a 2-1 victory to put the north London side at the summit of Europa League Group J.
