Top Matchup
Green Bay Packers at Carolina Panthers

One week removed from a humbling defeat to an unbeaten team that ended their own undefeated aspirations, the Green Bay Packers travel to a hostile environment for a similarly daunting matchup.
Last weekend's Sunday Night Football showdown was a midseason measuring stick as to the Super Bowl contention of both the Denver Broncos and the Packers, and it ended with Green Bay licking its wounds after a 19-point defeat. They face another stiff defense this weekend.
The Carolina Panthers may have needed overtime to get past Indianapolis on Monday, but their defense dominated Andrew Luck for the vast majority of that game. Aaron Rodgers is facing similar struggles, seeing his banged-up receiving corps unable to get open against top cover corners.
After failing to surpass 80 passing yards against the likes of Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr., Rodgers goes up against perhaps the best cover corner of this season in Josh Norman. Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network noted Norman's affinity for making big plays on a weekly basis:
It's not just Norman who is making life difficult for opposing passing attacks in the Carolina defense. He's getting stellar play from those behind him as well.
Both of the Panthers' top safeties had massive games Monday night against the Colts, as Pro Football Focus shared:
It hasn't always been pretty this season, but the Panthers are still undefeated. They have risen up against some of the league's toughest teams, proving to be the class of the NFC and showing that no other team is relatively close.
That includes Green Bay, of course. With no running game to speak of and defenses honing in on Rodgers to keep him in the pocket and stay glued to his weapons, the Packers are bound to continue crashing back down to Earth.
Meanwhile, Cam Newton and Ted Ginn Jr. will continue to gash a Packers defense that is proving incapable of stopping big plays through the air.
Prediction: Panthers 27, Packers 20
